Our Commitment to Sustainability

At Planit, we are committed to social, economic, and environmental well-being. Over the years, we have made great strides in measuring, evaluating, and implementing new strategies to achieve positive outcomes for our people, clients, and wider communities.

The COVID-19 pandemic gave us a new perspective on how a distributed work environment affects our footprint. The solutions implemented enabled us to reach many of our sustainability goals earlier and leave a positive legacy for future generations.

Our Sustainability Efforts

As an NRI company, we are working towards achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by FY2030 and using 100% renewable energy within the NRI Group.

Incentivising alternative transportation

We offer incentives to encourage employees to use public transport, walk, or bike to work. We subscribe to bike swap programs and have bicycle parking areas in most of our workspaces, globally.

Improving energy efficiency

Our physical footprint has been improving rapidly over the past few years. With remote working opportunities, and more considered office locations we are not only improving how we work, but our carbon footprint too.

Further power reductions

In 2020, we set a goal to gradually reduce our energy footprint annually by 2025, with interim annual reduction targets of over five years. By increasing our use of energy-saving measures at all locations, we have significantly reduced our average monthly power consumption.

Encouraging environmental volunteerism

We engage and empower employees to act on environmental issues they care about and and individually take action on climate change by supporting and/or volunteering for organisations and initiatives that we and they believe in.

Responsible IT equipment choices

We responsibly restore, donate and recycle our unneeded IT equipment. Furthermore, as we moved to hybrid working, we retired hundreds of legacy desktop systems at all our locations and replaced them with more efficient, physically smaller notebook computers.

Paring down on plastics

In 2020, we identified several commonly used single-use plastic items to eliminate from all offices globally and replace with more sustainable options. We are continually looking for more sustainable initiatives to reduce our consumption of plastics and harmful products.

Reducing paper

In 2020, we stopped printing non-business critical documents, such as promotional brochures, course manuals, business cards, and more. New digital platforms in areas such as contracts and invoicing have enabled us to be agile, and environmentally conscious across all business operations.

Water conservation

In 2020, we set a goal to gradually reduce our water consumption annual, targeting a meaningful decrease by 2025. With our per-head, per day water consumption now below the industry average, our present aim is to carry out several water conservation initiatives to improve our per-capita footprint.

Sydney, Australia

In 2022, we relocated our Sydney office to 309 Kent Street in the CBD. The building has a 5.5-star NABERS Energy (including GreenPower) rating, a 5.5-star NABERS Energy (no GreenPower) rating, and 5-star NABERS Water rating.

Melbourne, Australia

In 2022, we moved our Melbourne office to 550 Bourke Street in the CBD. The building runs on 100% renewable electricity and is carbon neutral certified. It also has 4-star Green Star Performance rating through the Green Building Council of Australia, a 5-star NABERS Energy Base Building rating, and a 5-star NABERS Water rating.

London, England

In 2022, we opened our London office in Fora off Brick Lane at 42 Princelet Street in East London. With the goal of achieving net zero carbon by 2030, the building uses 100% renewable energy and certified carbon neutral gas, and on-site energy generation where possible. It has also achieved an average 60% recycling rate.

Manila, Philippines

In 2023, we relocated our Manila office to The Curve building in Bonifacio Global City. The building has achieved LEED Gold certification for its low-iron insulated glazing units and low-emissivity materials, high-efficiency LED lighting, reduced water consumption, and rain harvesting, and outperform the ASHRAE 90.1-2007 standard by 18%.
