Visitors to the National Industrial Woodworking Show W10 in October, can see demonstrations of how the latest release of Planit’s specialist woodworking CAM software will take their businesses to the next level.
Planit’s Cabinet Vision will be presenting its latest release of CAM software, which will help all businesses working with wood to get the most from their designs and machine tools.
Cabinet Vision enables any woodworking company, from a small workshop to a large production plant, to fully automate and integrate its design and manufacturing processes, saving time, eliminating costly mistakes, and increasing productivity. It uses solid modelling technology to create true three-dimensional presentations of the final product on-screen, while simultaneously generating the necessary information for the shop floor.
And the new release, to be demonstrated on Planit’s stand: 6E595, at W10, contains a raft of updated and newly developed features which will help businesses to become even more efficient. Included in the extensive developments to Cabinet Vision 2011 R1 is an expanded Assembly Wizard allowing end-users to specify very sophisticated construction techniques that were previously only available through heavy customization. The addition of the configuration of Blind Dado, Fixed Dowel, and typical RTA Construction Techniques via a simple to use Wizard interface allows the end-user to configure highly specialised construction methods very quickly.
The ability to save and recall Job Property Schemes will allow end-users to quickly and easily define new jobs with all the specifications pre-defined.
Woodworkers using Cabinet Vision Ultimate, the premiere level of Cabinet Vision, will gain the ability to shape Parts with typical 2D CAD tools quickly and easily. In addition to Advanced CAD shaping, Ultimate users will be able to add Constraints to individual Parts giving them full parametric control of their shaped Parts.
Cabinet Vision’s Screen to Machine™ solution, the S2M Center, has also been significantly developed with 2011 R1. The S2M Center previously only available to Cabinet Vision users will now be offered as a stand-alone solution to any CAD user who needs to get individual, or batches of, DXF drawings from Screen to Machine™. In addition, the True Shape Nesting engine has been re-written with significant processing time and Yield improvements of nearly 60%. The addition of 6th Face Nesting and Common Line Cutting are just a few of the powerful new features available in S2M Center 2011 R1.
Chip Martin, Cabinet Vision Product Manager, says: “I am very excited about Cabinet Vision 2011 R1 and believe it will allow our existing and future customers take their businesses to the next level!”
Also being demonstrated at W10 is Alphacam, which offers a multitude of applications for doors, windows, cabinets, stairs and panels. Alphacam is used in the manufacture of many types of components, from simple routed parts to complex, 5-axis furniture components. Its flexibility means it can readily provide an integrated business system specifically for the individual needs of any company in the joinery industry.
Alphacam will also be producing its 2011 R1 release at the end of October, which will contain additional developments to provide users with even greater productivity, reliability, and flexibility, helping to increase profitability.
Cabinet Vision and Alphacam will be looking to repeat the success they achieved at the last National Industrial Woodworking show, W8, when they provided solutions to more than half of the companies who enquired about their software at the exhibition.
“As a database, Jobshop has remained the core of our business for information. Our business would be fundamentally constrained in its ability to grow if we didn’t have a fully functioning database approach to the way we manage information. As an SME within the supply chain we tend not to be mass producers, but have mass customisation and a huge variety of part numbers. There is simply no way we could manage that part count without Jobshop. And even if we could, it would be impossible to be compliant with the processes and standards required by our customers and the industry. So having Jobshop’s systematic database approach to handling that information is a basic prerequisite for our success.”
