Selects Jobshop to improve work scheduling & reduce WIP

2 January 2007 – Aish Technologies based in Poole, Dorset, has installed the latest Jobshop manufacturing and production control system to integrate all its systems and reduce lead times. The systems design and manufacturing company specialising in multi-function consoles, flat panel displays and cathodic protection systems, is using the full Jobshop system including costing, estimating, order processing, manufacturing, stock control and reporting. This will be implemented with Exchequer Accounts across the whole business.

“We are using the latest design and manufacturing tools together with lean process,” explains managing director Ed Bates. “We now need to replace our existing business system with a modern version that has a high degree of functionality that will complement our investments in capital equipment and training.”

The Jobshop system which Aish anticipates will have 35 users with an additional 20 touch screen shop floor data capture terminals, was selected because it offered very good value for money for an integrated system. It also closely matches Aish Technologies’ contract cost driven business and has excellent scheduling capabilities – features that are essential to the efficient running of the company.

“We aim to be fully live with the system by June 2007,” says information systems manager Paul Hardwick. “By which time we expect to significantly improve our scheduling of work in order to better utilise capacity and reduce work in progress.”
